Below are some of my favorite science fiction stories that I came across in the last few weeks. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!

“The Big Deal” by Jamie Brindle, a well-rounded character written with humor in a setting where the characters have very little to flesh them out (you’ll have to read it to see what I mean :).

 

“Third Shift” by Mar Catherine Stratford. An excellent character study of a down-on-their-luck (possible?) alien abductee published in the January issue of Asimov’s.

 

“The Death of Fire Station 10” by Ray Nayler.  An interesting story of what AI might really look like in the future. In a crazy coincidence, I used to live right up the street from the…setting? Character?
